Hospital de la Tour provides pediatric consultations by appointment only from Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 10 pm. Pediatricians from the hospital's service of Pediatrics provide the medical consultations weekdays from 8 am to 6 pm. Evening consultations (6pm to 10 pm) and holidays (8am to 10 pm) are provided by pediatricians from the Geneva Society of Pediatrics.
For vital emergencies, better call an ambulance but for a sudden, little illness that seems to pop up at the most unlikely moment and in the absence of your pediatrician, or during week-ends or holidays, this is one of three essential addresses to know in Geneva. The other two are the Hôpital des Enfants HUG (Children's Hospital, HUG) and the Clinique des Grangettes (Chêne-Bougeries).
Emergencies resulting from accidents are not treated here (see La Tour's Emergency services). Pediatricians on-call will examine your child for illness only. As everywhere, you will meet excellent doctors and some less agreeable ones.
One distinct advantage is that appointments are made by phone at the time of your call, so that waiting time is kept to a minimum. You'll find a gorgeous salt-water aquarium filled with colorful fishes of all shapes and sizes, and a little merry-go-round in the corner, to help kids (who aren't feeling too awful) bide their time in the waiting room.
