Unique in Switzerland, the Museum of the history of sciences houses a collection of scientific instruments that came from the laboratories and offices of Geneva's 17th to 19th century scholars (de Saussure, Pictet de la Rive, Colladon, etc.).. The objects on permanent display in several halls bear witnesses to scientific breakthrough, the history of Geneva as well as the construction of scientific knowledge and insights in general. These instruments help put into perspective contemporary science and improve our understanding of the evolution of subjects and technologies including astronomy, microscopy, gnomonics, electricity and meteorology. Science Wednesdays are for 8 to 11 year old children. From 2pm to 4pm, participants are invited to make experiments and crafts to understand various phenomena. [cf. HappyAgenda].
